apo calypso´s revenge aka: unhappy kraut day!

yeah! i just finished the poster for the festival @ iniego glocksee this oktober!!
i think last year the festival was a blast, exept the annoying entertainer....
about the bands:
subcancer: weird-electro-riot-pop
professor: played their last show back in 1994, so i think this will be their only " reunion" show... they play a kind of simple-death-trash... do not take it too serious...
november 13th: great, think about catharsis meets at the gates!!!
cave canem: hardcore? new songs more slow...
franz wittich: they always let me think about limp wrist, with more ald school punk attitude... the piano is quite funny!
magna mortalis: they descripe their music as technical deathmetal... i don´t like the music so much, but the drummer!!! he plays also in november13th and its great just to watch him play, ´cause he´s a machine! haha

sheffield, leeds...july/august08

i just got some pictures from our england trip in the end of july. our friends from bickle´s cab played their last show in sheffield before they split up. they invited us to join them on this event. we had some really nice day´s in sheffield, leeds and bradford... frank, who joined us made some really nice pictures. here are some of my favourites... if you like to see more, click here!

BON IVER for emma, forever ago

this record really got me, especial the song skinny love is so good... there is a story about this record... "Hibernating away from the dual break-up of two relationships - that with a girl and that with a band - Vernon retreated, alone, to an isolated cabin in the cold Wisconsin mountainside for four autumn/winter months. Locked away in his own self-imposed solitary confinement, he wrote, recorded and produced an album which could have only stemmed from such isolation."(RTE)

allways when i was sick, wich was pretty often in the last times, i watched this video over and over... it made nothing better cous i missed riding my bike more worse than before, but it felt good for the moment haha. the NADA SURF record is pretty good i think, soft indiepop...DOWNLOAD

cave canem

ok, this is the band i play in, it´s a kind of downtuned hardcore, inspired by HIS HERO IS GONE, NEUROSIS... i know quite a lot bands try to play this type of music after tradgedy released their first record... but i like to play and listen to this kind of music...so i don´t care. i posted everithing we ever released, in the order we made and recorded the songs...decide for yourself if you like it and don´t be shy and let me know what you think! DEMO TAPE (2005)

this are the first songs we ever made together,
we drove to a friends d.i.y-studio in eisenberg, close to leibzig. It was in december and on the highway our van broke down, the engine was fucked, everithing turned in to a moneygrave... in the end we made it to eisenberg.
if i listen to the songs now i´m quite unsatisfied, especial with the sound of my voice, but i think that´s the way it goes first try to be serious haha. but some songs i still like! frank from EPISTROPHY released the 9 songs on tape. i realy like the cover, it was printed silver on black. the front picture we stole by thomas ott, great artist, but sadfully there was no way to get in contact with him...

CAVE CANEM/FRACTURA SPLIT7´(2006)
so this was the first vinyl release of a band i played with. we shared this with our friends from FRACTURA. they where living in lübeck and bremen at this time. sadfully they don´t exist anymore, but the drummer has a really good new band called FAKE EMPIRE. allright whats left to say... 2 songs each band and released by a couple of d.i.y labels from germany and poland.(end of silence, endless sickness, trujaca fala, tofu guerilla & contrazt rec.!) The artwork is made by ARMSROCK (check his blog!) and i love it, it´s a fold-out cover, wich completes the front picture and set´s it in a different meaning... i was impressed by the way ARMSROCK made the cover, he wanted the lyrics for the songs and tried to do a picture wich fits to the lyrics...well done!

CAVE CANEM-S/T 7` (2007)
oh shit, this took ages to release, we went to studio in winter 2006, and it was put out in summer 2007 by EPISTROPHY and PAIN OF MIND. the single contains three songs recorded from GREGCORE in hamburg. in the same session we recorded the song FROST for the split 7` with THE HOLY MOUNTAIN. i´m realy happy with the work of GREGCORE. the front cover was made by a friend of us called lars. i think he´s a great artist, but he allways thinks he´s not good enough wich is bullshit haha.

CAVE CANEM/THE HOLY MOUNTAIN SPLIT 7´ (2008)
this 7´ was a fucking pain in the ass! nearly 1 1/2 years after we recorded the song it was put out. two days before we went on tour we got the lucky the message that it´s finaly done! yes! for me this piece of plastic means a lot, released on ALERTA ANTIFASCISTA and NO IDEA, two labels wich brought so much good music to my ears put out at least one side of our music haha! our song FROST is one of our best songs i think. the cover is made by HUSH and i love it!
